Tyler Jones Photography, Inc bio picture

The Photographer

I happen to have a few loves in my life:  my wife, my son and my camera.  In no particular order.

I hold a Masters degree in Architecture.  More than anything else, it gave me chronic “cannot go to sleep until at least 1am” syndrome.

I love the Colorado outdoors.  You might find me on my road bike, hiking in the mountains or camping with my family.  I used to rock climb every day, but college life was a long time ago.

I don’t drink coffee.  It’s still a mystery how I made it this long without it (over-sugarized carmel frappuccinos don’t count)

Thursday night = The Office.

I’m a computer junkie.  No name brands here, just custom built.

You are what you eat.  I am Chipotle.

The greatest sound in the world is hearing my son laugh hysterically.

These are only a few things that can help you get to know me.  Most importantly, I want to get to know things like this about you.  I would also love to hear about the things that are important to you and how I can capture your most treasured memories.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Danielle + Andrew | Married

Andrew and Danielle have a such a wonderful sense of youth and excitement about them!  These young love birds made such a wonderful commitment to each other in such a beautiful ceremony that I will never forget.  I may be biased since I married into a dutch family, but hearing the officiate talk about the bonds of their families (and dutch heritage) with such grace and humor gave me a smile for the entire ceremony.  We headed downtown for some fun shots at the Denver Art Museum on our way to the reception at the Mile High Station.  Danielle’s younger brother definitely stole the dance floor with ladies, but it made for some sweet shots.  Then the rest of the night turned into a great party!  Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your day!

Ceremony | Wellshire Presbyterian Church
Reception | Mile High Station
Hair | Ashley’s Hair Studio
Cake | Mulberries Cake Shop
Florist | Yvonne Herrema
DJ | Jammin DJ’s

Thanks to the amazing Erin Cady for assisting me!  She does such an amazing job working with me and always captures some beautiful emotions.

Alix + Matt | Engaged

I met up with Alix & Matt for a drink at McLoughlin’s in LoDo before we got started.  Sometimes there’s those shoots where everyone just has to start it off a bit more relaxed.  This was one of them.  It’s always good for a beautiful session once the nerves are calmed.  After making our way around LoDo, we ended up at the Museum of Contemporary Art which has to be the most magnificent piece of architecture in Denver.  And yet I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to also be photographing their wedding reception at the MCA in a couple weeks!  The ceremony will be held at the Denver Botanical Gardens, then off to downtown for an amazing rooftop party!

July 29, 2010 - 7:31 am Becky Young - Wonderful set! I really like the texture and lines in these shots, great job Tyler!

Rachel + Sal | Engaged

The first time we planned to head up to Rocky Mountain National Park with Rachel and Sal, it poured buckets of rain the entire weekend. So badly that the river in Estes Park was overflowing and restaurants and shops were closed down throughout the town. In the end, it all worked out for the better. The weekend we finally were able to get up to the Park, we got blessed with perfect weather and an occasional sprinkle of rain that was backlit by the golden light coming over the peaks. Then to bring in a couple like Rachel and Sal made it an epic session! Sal is a true gentleman and never afraid to hide his true feelings. Rachel is compassionate and ridiculously fun to have in your company. Even more so, she’s an amazing wedding planner and owner of Talia Events. The wedding of these two in October is truly going to emotional ride and I can hardly wait!
